what I'm learning: engaging with his heart

The most challenging aspect of this season of ministry in Moz is not being able to communicate in the Makua language as well as I would like. I love having meaningful conversations and deep relationships. When language and cultural barriers feel miles high, it’s very easy to feel disengaged, though physically present. The Lord has been reminding me how deeply He treasures my Mozambican brothers and sisters and how enthusiastic He is to engage with His children. He has been reminding me to believe in His greatness, power, and love, stronger than all my language weaknesses and failures. And He is challenging me to allow His love & life to fill me, that I may engage with and minister to and love well those around me. So I’m asking for His attentive eyes and His compassionate heart to overtake mine. What a joy it is to walk with this King of kings who enables us and fills us with every grace that is needed!
